Our story begins in 2015 when Janie and Frank Paslaski embarked on a transformative journey when they attended the Mother Earth News Fair in Wisconsin. They were captivated by the teachings of pioneers like Joel Salatin and the wisdom imparted by "Farming for Self-Sufficiency" by John and Sally Seymour. Inspired by these insights, they began dreaming of a life deeply rooted in sustainable agriculture.
In 2017, the Paslaskis seized the opportunity to purchase their current home on the outskirts of Clinton, Illinois, marking the first step toward turning their vision into reality. With each passing day, their dream of establishing a small-scale, pasture/woodland-based farm grew more tangible.
By 2019, Middle Creek Farms was born. Janie, Frank, and their four beloved pups—Kaja, Dante, Contessa, and Bennie—embarked on a mission to create a sanctuary where animals and nature coexist in perfect harmony. They embraced the principles of multi-species farming, striving to recreate a bygone era where symbiotic relationships thrived on the land.
As the years passed, Middle Creek Farms blossomed into a beacon of sustainability and ethical farming practices. In 2022, Frank retired, allowing the Paslaskis to dedicate themselves fully to the farm's growth and development. With unwavering dedication and a commitment to providing their animals with the highest quality of life, they cultivated a haven where every creature flourishes.
Today, Middle Creek Farms stands as a testament to the enduring allure of traditional agriculture. Visitors are invited to experience the beauty of nature and the bounty of the land firsthand, as they witness the Paslaskis' commitment to cultivating some of the most nutritious food a person can enjoy.
Our passion for farming extends beyond our love for animals and dedication to our customers—it encompasses a deep-rooted commitment to our community. We believe in giving back and supporting those in need, which is why we regularly donate our excess products to a local food pantry. Just this month alone, our contributions helped feed 97 families. We understand that times are tough for many, and we strive to make a positive impact wherever we can. It's just another way our small farm is doing big things.
